"I follow my creative spirit." ~ Mary Limont
After an early retirement from the financial industry in Massachusetts, Mary and her husband Chub relocated to Naples, FL, in 2000. With great encouragement from him, she was finally able to fulfill her desire to be creative. By combining their love of nature with texture and color, Mary started her visionary journey with a hobby in photography and she has managed to carry those details into her jewelry designs. She believes that even the most insignificant, tiny leaf or rusty nail has less seen, but familiar, beauty. In her “factory” (her guest room), you may catch Mary working on six to eight pieces at one time, moving fluidly between each as she follows the whims of inspiration. Her ongoing passion for pottery led to incorporating some small pieces into her necklaces and learning the process of Raku fired pottery. She considers herself an “organic” artist - Mary's designs include handcrafted Raku, regular pottery, metal, copper, sterling silver, fossils, natural stones and found objects. |
